  • Comprehensive midwifery care in Western Wisconsin.-715-231-3100
My practice is characterized by minimal intervention in the natural process of pregnancy and birth. I do not perform routine episiotomies or "preps" and will use a fetoscope or external doppler to monitor the baby's heart beats. Pain relief is accomplished by changes of position, massage, hydrotherapy, emotional support and a comfortable, relaxed environment.

My own wardrobe has been limited both by the inexplicable expense of maternity clothes and the fact that I refuse to wear anything with a peter pan color and a bow. Thanks to the internet, I can sit here in my tre chic maternity overalls and comment on the maternity fashion of the stars.

  • Babies, Birth and Bailey!! There are two reasons why I had to design this web page. The First: I believe I have the most beautiful daughter - I want everyone to see her so they, too, can be amazed that part of my genetic makeup created her! The Second: I have an incessant need to rant and rave about my life as Mama, wife to my dear, sweet husband, Mark, and the joys of being a student midwife.

  • Birth Choices Unlimited-Links - t is my firm belief that when a woman embarks upon the journey towards motherhood, she should make the effort to become as informed as she can about the choices she has regarding her reproductive health during what professionals now term the "childbearing year." The childbearing 'year' includes the period prior to conception, pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. While it is a time period well over a year, it helps to show that women often spend more than nine months adjusting to the prospect of a child in their lives.

  • Midwifery in Texas Texas citizens have been engaging the services of midwives throughout the history of the state. Direct Entry Midwives (or Documented Midwives), are able to operate legally in Texas under the Midwifery Act. This requires the Texas Department of Health to maintain a current roster of documented midwives, who must re-document yearly, and sets up a Midwifery Board to work with TDH to develop further Midwifery Rules, and to address standards of practice, grievance procedures, and educational standards.
